LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - After praying over Texas Tech or Texas, Trinity Christian’s Ethan Duncan received the clarity he needed and today he signed with the Red Raiders.
“It’s awesome. I’m really humbled for the opportunity. Glory to God for being able to come out here and sign in front of a great supporting group of individuals from 806.”
Duncan was receiving calls daily from Texas Coach Chris Beard and Red Raider Coach Mark Adams.
“I committed to Coach Beard before everything went down and he left for Texas. I was trying to decide between Texas & Texas Tech. I wanted to stay home and the relationship I have with Coach Adams and Coach Sutton, when it’s those guys coaching it’s easy to make a decision. I’m blessed to be able to stay home and be a Red Raider.
Ethan is Triniy Christian’s All-Time leading scorer with 2,891 points. He shoots 90% from the free throw line and 44% from three point land. Ethan’s dream started coming to reality when he went to Texas Tech’s camps.
“I talked to Adams Freshman year, he looked at me and recruited me at one of the Texas Tech team basketball camps. He said to keep working and he’d keep an eye out for me. Once he said that, I was motivated and ready to get to work. we kinda built the relationship from there and knowing him from my dad and eventually it led to this. it’s such a great opportunity.
Ethan follows in his father Todd’s footsteps as he played for the Red Raiders.
“Just the ability to follow my dad to Texas Tech and follow his legacy is an awesome thing.”
