Texas Tech upsets Kansas 75-67

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - With the return of three players to the lineup, the 25th ranked Texas Tech men’s basketball team beat the sixth ranked Kansas Jayhawks 75-67.

After playing Iowa State Wednesday night with just seven players, the Red Raiders got Mylik Wilson, Daniel Batcho, and Chibuzo Agbo back in the lineup for their second top 25 match-up in a row.

Leading scorers Terrence Shannon Jr. and Kevin McCullar were still out for the game, but Tech was still able to knock off the Jayhawks. Texas Tech led majority of the game, with the largest lead being 14 points early in the second half.

Texas Tech dominated the game in the paint, with 44 points in the paint compared to Kansas’ 18. They also won the rebounding battle, recording 33 boards, including 12 on the offensive end.

Bryson Williams led the way for the Red Raiders with 22 points and eight rebounds. Clarence Nadolny stepped up in the absence of Shannon and McCullar, finishing with a career-high 17 points to go along with three rebounds and three steals.

Next, Texas Tech will make the trip to Waco to take on the first-seeded Baylor Bears on Tuesday, Jan. 11 at 6 p.m. The game is set to be aired on ESPN 2.
