FB&T announces new VP of Consumer Lending and Private Banking
LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Greg Garland, President, and CEO of FirstBank and Trust (FB&T), announced the recent hiring of Shawn Knox as Executive Vice President of Consumer Lending and Private Banking.
Knox will hold office at the central location at 9816 Slide Road and oversee bank-wide consumer lending operations and private banking services.
“Shawn brings a proven track record of success to the bank,” said Garland. “With his financial acumen and extensive experience in consumer lending, I know he will prove to be invaluable to the FBT team.”
Knox started his career in banking in 1999, just a few years after graduating with his Bachelor of Science in Business and Accounting at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina. He held several positions throughout his career, including branch manager, sales development, and retail executive, working primarily in major metropolitan areas in Texas, including Houston and Dallas. Since 2017 Knox has lived and worked in Lubbock, continuing his career in banking as head of consumer lending at another local financial institution.
As an active member of the Lubbock community, Knox is no stranger to volunteering his time. Currently, he serves as a board member for Habitat for Humanity and the 100 Black Men of West Texas. In addition, he remains involved in the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity and Lubbock Meals on Wheels.

Knox and his wife Amanda have been married for 19 years and have two children, Madison and Aiden.
