First-graders donate to the Haven

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - First graders from Southcrest Christian School learned to be good servants as they raised money for a local cause.
Today, they made a heartfelt donation to “The Haven.”
After months of extra chores, selling homemade bracelets and lemonade, the students raised $745 (double their initial goal.)
Gina Limon said the teachers pushed their students to be servants to raise the money rather than just ask for it.
The students made a trip to Petsmart and brought more than $800 worth of goods to donate.
The Haven Animal is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter east of Lubbock.
