‘We will put Coach K out of business’: Tech basketball fans optimistic about game against Duke

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - After Tech’s win against Notre Dame, Tech will make their 7th appearance in the Sweet 16.

It’s Tech’s 3rd time in four tournaments to make it to the Sweet 16.

For the upcoming game against Duke—Tech fans expect the team to come out of the gates swinging, especially against Coach K, striving for 100 tournament wins before retiring.

“To play Duke, we’re gonna play a full game rather than just a last few,” one Tech student said. “We will put Coach K out of business. He’s not hitting 100 games.”

Texas Tech will face off against Duke on Thursday in San Francisco. The winner will advance to the Elite 8. If the Raiders win, it will be their first time reaching this far since 2019, when they made it to the finals.
