2 arrested after suspect caught using paint roller to paint vehicle in alley
PLAINVIEW, Texas (KCBD) - Plainview police were called to an alley in the 300 block of S.E. 6th for a person who was painting a vehicle with a paint roller.
Officers found 26-year-old Austin Cansino painting a four-door Buick, which was reported as stolen.
The investigation led officers and detectives to the 800 block of W. 27th Street where a second stolen vehicle was found. Officers also found a stolen gun, trailer and welder.
Mark Flores, 33, and Cansino were both arrested.
Cansino is facing charges of possession of stolen property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Flores is facing charges of possession of stolen property, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and possession of a firearm by a felon. He was also found to have several warrants for his arrest including a parole violation from a prior charge of possession of a firearm by a felon.
Both were booked into the Hale County Jail.
Plainview officials say some of the stolen property has been returned to the owners.
