Could we finally see April showers?
LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - After a warm and dry Easter Sunday, some cooler weather is in the forecast to begin the week along with rain chances Tuesday.
Another quiet and cool night overnight with temperatures dipping into the 40s across the South Plains. Clear skies through the night with a light breeze from the east between 5-10 mph.
Chilly start to your Monday and a cooler afternoon, at least compared to Sunday. A few clouds will be possible mainly in the afternoon with breezy winds from the east around 15 mph. High temperatures tomorrow will fall in the 70s, a bit below average for this time of year.
We continue to watch for the potential for rain Tuesday. The latest data has showers and thunderstorms beginning over Lubbock and quickly pushing to the east. Rain generally looks to be light and spotty but some heavier showers are possible for some. No severe weather threat as it stands but we will continue to update you as we get closer. Temps again in the 70s Tuesday with breezy winds from the southeast.
Temperatures will warm right back up into the 90s for the rest of the workweek as we dry out. Fire weather concerns will return Wednesday as winds will remain breezy with drier air. Another system will hopefully bring us some rain by the end of the week, but chances look slim for now.
