Stray cat crashes performance of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ to play with actor’s hair

TURKEY (CNN) — A stray cat turned a performance of “Romeo & Juliet” into an unexpected comedy after wandering onto the stage during a live outdoor ballet.

The cat was caught on camera during the final dramatic moments of the Shakespeare play.

As Juliet delivered her lines, the cat approached Romeo’s body, cuddling up to the actor and playing with his hair.

A soloist with the ballet company said it is not uncommon to have stray cats show up during outdoor shows in Turkey, which is known for its abundance of stray cats.

The company shared video of another stray that appeared at rehearsals.

The performers took the interruption in stride, saying animals bring out the best of their emotions.
