Taylor Fresh Foods recalls jalapeño pepper products over salmonella concerns

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Taylor Fresh Foods is voluntarily recalling more than a dozen of its products made with jalapeño peppers due to a possible link to salmonella, according to the CDC.

The recall includes whole jalapeño peppers and products containing peppers, such as burritos, bowls, guacamole, sandwiches, salsas, salads and wraps. Affected products carry a best-if-used-by date of August 16, 2026, or earlier.

The recall covers products distributed across 26 states, including Texas. The CDC has published a full list of affected states and the stores that may have received the recalled items.

Consumers who have any of the affected products with the listed best-by date should throw them away or return them to the store for a refund.

The CDC and the Food and Drug Administration said last week they were investigating a salmonella outbreak that has sickened 345 people across 27 states and led to 36 hospitalizations.

Taylor Fresh Foods said it is unaware of any reported illnesses linked to the products it has voluntarily recalled.
