5 officers charged with Flock misuse; 1 allegedly tracked women to interact with them

INDIANAPOLIS (CNN) — Four Indianapolis police officers and one former officer are accused of abusing the department’s Flock camera system.

The five face fraud and misconduct charges.

One of the officers also faces a stalking charge. Investigators said he used the surveillance system to track women in an effort to interact with them.

Another officer is accused of using the system to look up the location of his ex-wife’s car more than 950 times over a six-month period.

Four officers have been suspended. The police chief has recommended they be fired.

City response

The mayor of Indianapolis said the city plans to work with police to strengthen policies related to Flock cameras in an effort to prevent this from happening again.
