LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - It wasn't a high-speed chase. In fact, they didn't even reach the posted speed limit.

Police say two teens, ages 15 and 13, led them on a bizarre low-speed chase at about 1 a.m. Thursday morning after stealing a Caterpillar Paddle Wheel Scraper from Lane Construction. The massive machine towers at least 12 feet high with the wheels along standing over five feet.

A witness saw the two driving the stolen heavy machinery near Broadway and Avenue A and called the police. Slowly, the two made their getaway after responding officers spotted them near Clovis Road and the North Loop. Eventually, the massive earth scraper came to a halt near the Loop and the 4th Street exit.

Unfortunately for them their big joy ride landed them in big trouble with the law. Both teens were arrested and are charged with theft.

Luckily no one was hurt during the unusual ride.
