New information about the salmonella outbreak found in turkey
The recall came last week, but the fallout continues. Over one hundred people have been sickened by salmonella after eating the contaminated ground turkey. Experts believe there are still likely hundreds more that have not been reported.
The CDC now says one hundred seven have been infected, and one person has died after eating the tainted meat.
Last week, Meat Giant, Cargill, issued a recall of thirty-six million pounds of ground turkey, and cited a plant in Arkansas as the source of the outbreak.
The bad turkey is out of stores now, but apparently still in some refrigerators.
The CDC says check before you eat ground turkey, and make sure it is not included in the recall. For the list of those products, just go to http://stage1.order.cargill.com/na3047772.pdf
