Around 3:30 p.m., they responded to a call of a crash near 82nd and Salem Avenue, but once they arrived, they found a car with a smashed in hood and discovered the crash hadn't happened at that intersection.
They followed the car for several blocks until it stopped at the intersection of 79th and Richmond.
Officers found both the driver and passenger unresponsive with several pill bottles in the car.
Investigators say the bottles were filled with Methamphetamine. The driver was arrested and charged with felony possession of meth.
The female passenger was taken to UMC for treatment.
Police believe the driver may have been involved in a hit-and-run wreck around 2 p.m. near Slide and South Loop 289.
