Playgrounds are especially busy in the summer, along with orthopedic surgeons, especially when it comes to playground accidents.
So, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons is sharing these safety tips.
Avoid playgrounds with asphalt or concrete surfaces instead of a rubber or mulch which provide a softer landing. Make sure kids are not on the playground with jewelry or drawstrings in their clothes. These can get caught in equipment.
And never go down a slide with a baby or toddler in your lap, because the little one can get trampled in the landing.
