In response to the recent security breach surrounding Target, a local bank is stepping up to right the wrong for hundreds of Lubbock customers.

Target said that as many as 40 million of its customer's debit cards may have been compromised in the massive data breach that began Thanksgiving weekend.

Hana Robertson with First Bank and Trust said that the bank is reaching out to help solve the problem by issuing out new debit cards to their customers.

"We began calling our customers immediately and invited them into our branches to get new debit cards," Robertson said. "We extended our hours last night and today. Tons of customers are coming in to get new cards."

First Bank and Trust said they were able to help more than 900 customers.
