LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Turns out you don't have to travel all the way to Ireland to enjoy a well-known Irish tradition.
Texas Tech University is home to a piece of the Blarney Stone.
According to the legend, a group of petroleum engineers discovered the stone during a field trip, and after testing it, determined it to be a piece of the original stone.
It now sits behind the old Electrical Engineering building.
And according to Red Raider Legend, seniors who kiss the stone upon graduation will receive the gift of eloquent speech.
