Petsmart helps furry friends find home during adoption weekend
Each year, Petsmart Charities host four national adoption weekends, and this weekend is one of them.
Ten different adoption groups brought a total of 100 dogs to the Lubbock Petsmart on Saturday to help them find their forever homes.
KCBD was told that these dogs are vaccinated, have been spayed or neutered and have an ID chip.
Sallie Morris coordinates adoptions for Petsmart Charities, and she said the adoption weekends are a great place to find a furry friend.
"Well, it's a very good place to see lots of dogs in one location," Morris said. "You can actually visit with the people who have the shelter and they know the history of the dog you are looking at. And if you have another dog at home, it's very good to bring your dog and introduce it to the new dog. That way, it avoids issues when you get home."
Each organization has their own adoption fee. So far, they have adopted out nearly 40 dogs.
If you missed the event on Saturday, they will be open again on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
