Lubbock man indicted for murder Tuesday afternoon

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock man arrested late last month following a deadly shooting in east Lubbock will go to trial.
Leroy Mitchell, 56, was indicted for murder on Tuesday afternoon.
Lubbock police say Mitchell shot and killed 42-year-old Victor Hopkins near a home at East 26th Street and Ivory on April 23.
Witnesses say Hopkins was attempting to stop a fight between Mitchell and a woman when Mitchell turned the gun on Hopkins, firing twice.
Mitchell's bond is set at $1 million.
