LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A lightning strike caused an oil tank to burst into flames in northeast Lubbock on Wednesday.
Lubbock Fire and Hazmat crews responded to the fire on Idalou Road outside the loop just before 10 a.m.
Kelly Morman from the Lubbock Fire Department told us what they saw when they arrived:
"Once we got on the scene, we did have an oil tank that was on fire. Lightning had struck the top of the tank...blown the lid off the tank and the oil inside was burning."
The fire was put out in about five minutes.
