LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock Police say an elderly woman suffered moderate injuries when her car collided with a train Friday evening.  The accident happened on Inler Avenue between 19th and 34th Streets around 5:15 p.m.

Investigators tell us a Buick passenger car was southbound on Inler, and a train with 4 cars was going eastbound across Inler.

The crossing has flashing red warning lights that were activated, but there are no arms or gates at the crossing.

The driver of the car failed to yield to the train, and the front of the train hit the side of the car, dragging it off the roadway.

The crew from the train said they were going about 25 MPH.

The driver of the car was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. Her name has not been released.

No one on board the train was hurt.
