LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Pay It Forward started out along East Fourth Street near Acuff this week. We set up with our Pay It Forward sign seeking this week's playmaker.

Within a minute or two, Amanda Jester and Carol Miller arrived after spotting our sign down the street. Both were eager to help out a co-worker who was going through some tough times.

When asked who they would pick, Amanda told us, "We would pick our co-worker. She's at work right now and she could really use it to help with her kids and just pay her bills and stuff."

Amanda and Carol told us that their co-worker was Kandi Wood and that she would do anything to help others out if she could.

Carol told us, "She would do anything for anybody before doing it for herself."

Amanda added, "She's a good mom. She's trying her best to do what she can for her family."

We went to the location where Kandi was at work. Kandi was completely shocked.

Amanda and Carol told her that they had just seen the Pay It Forward sign and that they wanted to do something nice for her.

Kandi broke down in tears and said, "I'm flattered that you even thought of me."

They all hugged each other. Kandi added, "I appreciate it with my whole heart. It will help me a lot. Very much. Thank you all."

Be looking for our Pay It Forward sign soon. You may become our next playmaker.
