CROSBY COUNTY, TX (KCBD) - It's not every day that you see a murder re-enacted at a birthday party...

The Crosby County Courthouse has seen a lot of history in its time.

The county celebrated its 100th birthday on Saturday with a big parade and a re-enactment of a shooting that took place on the courthouse steps back in 1923.

Crosby County Judge David Wigley also shared another piece of the area's history with attendees, an infamous 1927 murder involving an area farmer.

"I read, several years ago, the complete court transcript of the Bob Morgan murder. it's a little known, but extremely fascinating case," Wigley said.

Along with the history lessons, there were plenty of activities for kids and adults including antique cars, animals and of course some birthday food.

The judge says he was humbled to be a part of the historical celebration.
