LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Texas voters will decided on a proposed constitutional amendment to fund transportation on November 4th. Prop. 1 would allow the state to use taxes collected from oil and gas production to pay for road maintenance and improvements.
It's estimated that $1.7 billion could be transferred into the State Highway Fund in the first year.
The ballot language for the proposition reads:"The constitutional amendment providing for the use and dedication of certain money transferred to the state highway fund to assist in the completion of transportation construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation projects, not to include toll roads."
Voters will select "for" or "against".
