LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - LPD Corporal Jay White remains behind bars Thursday. An arrest warrant obtained by KCBD reveals the events that led to his arrest.

Lubbock police say 42-year-old White is being charged with two accounts of Continuous Violence Against the Family, a 3rd Degree Felony.

The family is that of White's fiance and her two children, who have lived together for close to two years.

Current charges appear to stem from a history of physical and verbal violence between the two, including a Sept. 13 incident when Corporal White was arrested in Ruidoso, New Mexico for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to the warrant, Corporal White and his fiance spent time in Ruidoso three weeks before his arrest. Both parties admit that things got out of hand after an evening of drinking.

Corporal White is accused of becoming physical with his fiance, hitting her in the head, leaving a knot and even putting both hands around her neck.

Ruidoso police warned the couple and relocated Corporal White's fiance for the night.

The warrant says she tried walking back to the cabin where Corporal White was staying. He got in the car to come meet her, but was pulled over by RPD and arrested for the DUI.

Fast forward to Oct. 20.

White's fiance told LPD Internal Affairs that another assault had taken place a few days before.

She said the two of them returned back to their house after a night out where Corporal was acting "irate" with her, and then with her children.

She says a struggle ensued after Corporal White began going through her phone.

The warrant says he then became physical with her, grabbing her arm and pushing her down on the ground before smashing her phone onto the tile bathroom floor, shattering it, while her children were watching.

The warrant says Corporal White told her daughter she was "going to be a wh***" just like her mom.

Corporal White's fiance took her children to her step-dad's house, where they stayed that night.

The following morning, one of Corporal White's fiance's children said he heard a noise during the night that sounded like a person had jumped the backyard fence.

There were broken pickets in the fence and a turned over trashcan that indicated someone had tried to jump the fence.

Corporal White will remain on paid administrative leave as the investigation continues.

He was released from jail on a $15,000 bond around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
