A group at Texas Tech called "Advocates for Special Needs Athletes" is run by medical students to help the disabled reach their full potential.
That's why again this year; they are hoping you will join an annual fundraising effort called 'Queue for a Cause'.
“It's a dinner and an auction, so we'll have an optional wine-tasting, with hors d'oeuvres, and then dinner and our guest speakers, we have one from Special Olympics, and one from Refuge Services, and then a variety of auctions to raise money for those two groups," says TTUHSC medical student, Katie Butler.
"Refuge services offers a lot of services, it's hippo-therapy, therapeutic writing and equine assisted psycho-therapy on scholarship basis, and organizations like this help us serve our clients better for our community," says Sally Wright, the lead therapeutic riding instructor at Refuge.
Queue for a Cause is coming up a week from tomorrow on Friday, November 14th. It will be held at Caprock Winery, located at 408 East Woodrow Rd.
It's $60 a person, but you'll want to bring a roll of quarters for a quarter auction and lot of prizes.
