A Lubbock woman was recently arrested in Swisher County after leading law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase.
Friday morning, Lydia Delacerda arrived at Swisher Memorial Hospital in Tulia, with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Tulia Police officers arrived to investigate the incident and Delacerda provided a false name. Officers were able to confirm Delacerda's true identity and realized that she was wanted on a felony warrant for a parole violation.
As officers investigated the shooting incident, Delacerda fled from Swisher Memorial and led officers on a high-speed chase. Officers pursued Delacerda for several miles; reaching speeds of over 90 mph. DPS State Trooper Terry Luker was able to catch up with Delacerda and subsequently took her into custody.
Delacerda is being held in the Swisher County Jail.
