LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Texas DPS trooper was caught on camera performing a heroic act Monday afternoon.

Trooper Corina Jandrew was heading west on 4th street when she spotted an elderly woman trying to cross at the crosswalk at the 4th and Slide intersection from McDonald's to Walgreens. The woman did use the crosswalk properly but wasn't able to cross the street before the traffic light turned green.

Trooper Jandrew noticed that drivers were not yielding to allow the elderly woman to cross the street, so Jandrew pulled up her patrol vehicle to block the traffic.

Jandrew got out of her patrol unit and helped the woman cross the street.
