Driver in critical condition after car fire in Joyland parking lot

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Fire officials are investigating a car fire in East Lubbock that sent one person to the hospital on Wednesday night.

The fire broke out around 9:30 p.m. in the parking lot at Joyland Amusement Park on Canyon Lake Drive. Firefighters say the car crashed through a fence at Joyland.

Firefighters say the 37-year-old male driver was taken to UMC with serious injuries. He was the only person in the vehicle.

He is said to be in critical condition as of Thursday afternoon.
