Friends remember TTU freshman killed in head-on collision
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - At 19-years-old, Madison Lockaby was a freshman at Texas Tech University. Her friends describe her as a small town girl from Tahoka who had a bubbly and outgoing personality.
Madison's friends from Texas Tech describe her as a girl who never had a frown on her face. They say she he was so full of energy and life that you couldn't help but be happy when you were around her. They say you could be blindfolded and know she had just walked into the room - mostly by her laugh.
They say not another person in this world had a laugh like Madi.
She was a new member of Pi Beta Phi, and on Monday night, the members were heartbroken to learn about her tragic accident.
Pi Beta Phi Chapter President Lacey Jo Lunsford sent us this message:
"Our chapter members are completely devastated by the passing of our sweet sister, Madison Lockaby. She was such a fun-loving and outgoing girl. It is impossible to be in a bad mood when you are around Madi. She was welcoming and warm-hearted to anyone and everyone, stranger or friend. She truly reflected our values, especially sincere friendship, which was evident in her commitment to each of her sisters. We sensed Madi's kindness from the very beginning, and fell in love with her from day one. She was a perfect match for our sisterhood and was representative of everything we stand for. Heaven gained a beautiful Angel today. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Lockaby family, friends and all those who knew Madi."
Services are being held for Madison Thursday, April 9th at 1 p.m. The services are being held at the South Plains Church of Christ.
