LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - LP&L says a squirrel was responsible for a Monday morning power outage between University and Indiana Avenue south of 50th Street.

LP&L representatives say the animal came in contact with certain equipment, disrupting power and causing it to be electrocuted.

The resulting circuit lockout affected just under 500 customers.

Crews had repair the conductor and then close back in the circuit.
