LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The search is on for suspects in two armed robberies that happened on Monday night.

Authorities tell us they first responded to an aggravated robbery at the 7-Eleven at 4th and Elgin near Texas Tech.

Then, about an hour later, they got a call about another armed robbery, this time at the Subway inside Valero near the Slaton Highway and the southeast loop.

Now, police are looking into whether these might be related to another robbery that happened at a Family Dollar located on south Avenue Q back on May 20.

Jenni Yarbrough lives in an apartment complex right behind the 7-Eleven that was robbed on Monday evening. She said she is a frequent customer of the convenience store.

Toting her 8-year-old son and 3-month-old daughter, Yarbrough said she walks over to the 7-Eleven all the time.

"At least once or twice a day we walk over here," Yarbrough said.

It scares her knowing that an armed robbery happened so close to home.

"I was just kind of thinking what my reaction would be if I was in the store," Yarbrough said. "Knowing that no one ever expects it and I know it can happen anywhere, but for it to happen that close that's kind of shocking."

The thought that consumes her the most is thinking that she could've been there with her kids when it happened.

"I'll definitely look around twice, but how can you ever anticipate something like that," Yarbrough said.

Yarbrough tells us she just recently moved back to Lubbock and has lived in her apartment for six months, thinking it's in a safe area.

"But, when you think about Lubbock, I think that's kind of why I came back, is because it's a smaller town," Yarbrough said. "Smaller, it is growing, but it makes me a little uneasy to know that it's happening so often, not quite sure why."

Lubbock police are searching for suspects dressed in all black, wearing hooded sweatshirts and masks, armed with rifles.

These two recent robberies are still under investigation but LPD urges anyone with information to call Crime Line at 741-1000.
