Abilene police seeking shooting suspect

ABILENE, TX (KCBD) - The Abilene Police Department is searching for 23-year-old Joe Benny Garcia, accused in a shooting that injured a man on Hardy Street.

If you have any information, police ask that you call Abilene Crime Stoppers at 676-TIPS (8477).

Garcia is a Hispanic male, 6', 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was seen driving a 1990's white 2-door Ford F-150.

ABILENE TX- Abilene Police responded to an injured subject call in the 2100 block of Hardy Street just before 5 p.m. on June 30. The calling party advised they heard several gunshots along with fighting and screaming at a house located on Hardy Street. Police arrived, set up a perimeter and cleared the scene. 25 year old Devon Jackson was shot by a known suspect and taken to the hospital for treatment of his injury by MetroCare.

The suspect was identified by witnesses as 23 yr. old Joe Benny Garcia and a warrant has been issued for Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon, bond is set at $250,000. He is possibly driving a 1990's model two-door white Ford F-150 pickup truck. If you have any information regarding this incident or the location of Garcia contact Crime Stoppers at 676-TIPS (8477).
