A July Fourth shooting in Brownfield  has left one man dead and another behind bars.

50-year-old Francisco Fernando Fernandez of Plains is behind bars in Terry County, charged with murder.

Investigators say Fernandez fatally shot 37-year-old Christavian Jerrod Baker.

Police in Brownfield were called to a home in the 500 block of North 5th Street just after 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

They found Baker unresponsive at the residence.

Police say with the help of the Texas Rangers and the Terry County District Attorney's Office they were able to track down Fernandez.

Fernandez was arrested Sunday morning in Brownfield. He's charged with murder.

He is currently being held on a $750,000 bond.
