LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Darlie Routier, formerly of Lubbock, remains on death row, accused of killing her two young sons.
A jury convicted Routier in the 1996 stabbing death of her 5-year-old son Damon. Authorities also charged her with killing Damon's 6-year-old brother Devon, but she was not tried for the death.
Routier maintains her innocence, claiming an unidentified intruder killed the boys and stabbed her in their home in the Dallas suburb of Rowlett. Her husband and infant son, Drake, were asleep upstairs at the time and were not hurt.
Routier's husband, who still lives in Lubbock with their youngest son, divorced her in 2011.
CNN's "Death Row Stories" profiled the case and questioned the timeline of events.
