LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Authorities are now waiting for autopsy results to determine how to move forward on a death investigation in East Lubbock.

Police now tell us that 71-year-old Jesus Arce died at the hospital on Sunday.  Authorities tell us he was taken to the hospital on Friday following a robbery inside his home on East 47th Street.

Arce told police three people broke into his home, beat him up and stole his vehicle.

Arce's neighbor, who cleans his home, actually found him tied to his bed on Friday.

EMS took Arce to the hospital.

According to the police report, officers arrested Rudy Garza and Elias Luna.  Police tell us the men were arrested out of the victim's vehicle, but are not considered suspects in the robbery.

Both are held in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a charge of theft between $1,500 to $20,000.  Garza also has an additional charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.  Authorities took them into custody Sunday evening.

Now, police need to figure out whether Arce died from injuries he sustained during the robbery, or from something else. That will determine how investigators move forward in this case.
