LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - After a winless first season, the Trinity Christian Lions have recruited the help of a local player and coach with quite an impressive resume.
Former Red Raider Rodney Blackshear will take the reigns, looking to create huge opportunities for Trinity.
"It's a blessing to be back in Lubbock but I'm excited about taking over the new program of young, fresh minds who want to learn the game of football." Blackshear says.
Blackshear spent time coaching the Lubbock Renegades until the program ended in 2008. He continued coaching for several arena and college teams before committing to the Lions.
Big plans are in store for the team, according to Blackshear.
"I already told them we have to score at least one touchdown a quarter, which is not a lot. But when you take into consideration defensive scores too, two field goals and we are looking at 50 points per game."
