Back To School Bash provides supplies to 900 students
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Nearly 900 Lubbock students have backpacks filled with school supplies.
That's all thanks to the Lubbock Dream Center who gave away all of those backpack for free during the Back to School Bash.
The Back to School Bash kicked off around 8 o'clock this morning.
"My favorite part of today is watching the faces of the children receiving backpacks, watching their families just hug us and say how grateful they are. And seeing the little children open their backpacks like it's Christmas and they can't wait to see what's in them."
Aside from the free backpacks, there were plenty of fun activities and food for the whole family.
Volunteers prayed over families as they prepared for this upcoming school year.
