LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - In a marathon of pre-trial conference hearings Friday morning, charges against Angelina Medina were dismissed.

Angelina is the ex-daughter-in-law of former Lubbock City Attorney Sam Medina who  accused him of sexually assaulting her in 2014. That investigation led authorities to charge Angelina Medina with drug possession.

The investigation also led to a charge of tampering with evidence against Dominique Abercrombie. The court dismissed that charge on Friday as well.

Tony Renteria is charged with tampering with a witness and possession of a dangerous drug. Renteria is represented by attorney Daniel Hurley. Hurley and prosecutors discussed evidence in both cases.

Erik Medina, Sam Medina's son, and Angelina Medina's ex-husband, with his defense attorney Rod Hobson also discussed the status of his case, one for domestic assault and a second for practicing medicine without a license.

Sam Medina and wife Velma were absent from Friday morning's pre-trial conference hearings because of a prior commitments and were excused by the judge.

Tentatively, there is another pre-trial hearing set for the end of November, to again update all parties involved in order to set trial dates for 2016.
