Three law enforcement officers injured in Carson County

On September 13, 2015 the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) conducted a traffic stop on IH-40, in Conway, Texas resulting the injury of three law enforcement officers. Early reports indicated four injuries, but it has been confirmed only three.

At approximately 12:05 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a silver Cadillac passenger car for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, a scuffle broke out and the driver of the Cadillac was able to get back into the vehicle and attempted to drive away. A DPS Trooper in the passenger area of the Cadillac attempted to place the vehicle in park and remove the keys. For an unknown reason, the trooper came out of the vehicle hitting the ground.

One trooper was taken by Panhandle EMS to Northwest Texas and one was taken by DPS vehicle. A trooper on scene was treated but not transported.
The alleged driver of vehicle is Victor Apada, 25, of Clovis. Attached is a wanted poster as he is still at large and a  manhunt is ongoing.

Agencies involved are Texas Rangers, Texas Highway Patrol, DPS Criminal Investigations Division, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Texas Criminal Justice, Carson County, Armstrong County, Randall County, Potter County and other area agencies.
