Matthew Torrez sentenced to 50 years for murder of Vanessa Alcorte

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock man who admitted to a deadly shooting received his sentence on Monday.
Matthew Torrez pleaded guilty last month to the May 2014 killing of Vanessa Alcorte. Under the agreement, Torrez will spend 50 years behind bars.
Police discovered Alcorte's body inside a vehicle near the West fork Mobile Home Park in North Lubbock. They arrested Torrez the next day.
