Lubbock man indicted, charged with burglary, beating of elderly man
HOCKLEY COUNTY, TX (KCBD) - 19-year-old Jordan Clay Burrell of Lubbock was indicted by a grand jury on Tuesday, charged with aggravated robbery, injury to an elderly man, burglary of a habitation and burglary of a habitation with intent of felony.

The Lubbock Sheriff's Office was called to a residence in the 11500 blk. of CR 6900 (west 50th) at 0921 this morning in reference to an assault.
Upon arrival, witnesses told LSO deputies that they had seen their 67 year old neighbor (male) being beaten with what they described as a "pipe" or "stick" by an unknown male subject. When confronted, the assailant discarded the weapon and nonchalantly walked away leaving the assaulted victim lying on the ground.
The (unidentified) elderly victim told deputies that the suspect approached him and demanded money. When the elderly gentleman refused, the suspect began beating him and attempted to steal his vehicle.
As deputies were assisting EMS with the victim, a panic alarm was activated at a near-by residence. That reporting person stated that a male subject (similar description) had broken into her residence and could possibly still be inside.
The Lubbock Sheriff's Office SWAT Team was activated and procedure's to apprehend this subject were set into motion. The residence was entered and cleared by LSO SWAT; however, the suspect was not located. As a ground and air search began of the area, a call was received from just inside of Hockley County, of a male subject (similar description) breaking into an unoccupied residence in the 6900 blk. of Quail Rd.
Around 1400hrs, Hockley County Sheriff's deputies, along with LSO deputies, located the suspect as he exited the residence and took him into custody.
Physical evidence from the incidents in Lubbock Co. as well as items from the residence in Hockley Co. were found in the possession of the suspect, identified as 19 year old Jordan Clay Burrell of Lubbock.
Burrell was arrested and taken to the Lubbock County Detention Center charged with aggravated robbery with further charges pending.
The victim (remaining unidentified at this time) was transported to UMC with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
