LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Suicide is something that people choose not to talk about because there is such a stigma around it, and breaking that stigma is the goal of the 5th annual "Out of the Darkness Walk."
The walk took place on Sept. 20, was sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and held on the Texas Tech campus.
Organizers said they want everyone to know that there is help out there, and all it takes is for one person to speak up.
More then 900 people took part in the walk and raised 28 thousand dollars.
The money collected will go towards education programs, as well as supporting people who have lost someone to suicide.
