Plainview police name suspect in Walmart parking lot shooting

PLAINVIEW, TX (KCBD) - Plainview police are searching for a suspect in a shooting that happened in the Walmart Supercenter parking lot on Sept 25.

Police have issued an arrest warrant for 23-year-old J'quelvain Martel Jennings, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police say His last known address is 1205 Milwaukee in Plainview, Texas, and he does have a previous address in Lubbock.

They encourage anyone with information to call the Plainview Police Department or Crimestoppers at 806-293-8477. Crimestoppers will pay a reward of up to $350 for information that leads to his arrest.

At around 12:40 p.m., Plainview police reported that two men, one in a white vehicle and the other in a black vehicle, met at the parking lot located in the 1500 block of Interstate 27.

It is thought that the man in the black vehicle entered the white vehicle. An argument began in the vehicle, and one of the occupants exited the vehicle. Shots where then heard at the scene.

The man in the black vehicle then fled the scene. The man in the white car then drove to the adjacent gas station before he was apprehended. Police say the man in the white car was grazed by a bullet in the head, but did not sustain any life-threatening injuries.
