LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Texas Tech Homecoming week continued Friday with two homecoming traditions - the Homecoming pep rally and the Homecoming Parade, filled with student-made floats.

Red Raiders were happy the rain held off and the parade is happened, because they've spent three weeks preparing and building these floats.

Greek life members put the finishing touches on their floats for the Homecoming parade all week.

"It's a lot of work. More than I expected," Colton Davis, ATO Homecoming Chair said.

From the building, to the pomping, students put all of their time and energy into making their floats perfect.

"We were up here all night last night finishing the float," Davis said.

A time consuming process made worth it, when they finally see the finished product of their hard work.

"Its nice to have it over with and finally done and it's exciting to see it finally put together," Davis said.

Floats were judged on spirit, incorporation of the Wreck Em' Arcade theme and precision of the design.

Homecoming Week continues Saturday with the big game against Iowa State.
