LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock police have arrested a suspect in connection with a homicide that happened Tuesday afternoon at 45th and Avenue P. 22-year-old Ruben Ramos III was arrested on Wednesday.

Detectives say this appears to be a targeted act and not a random crime.

Police have identified the victim as 23-year-old Nakasha Nycole Nolan of Brownfield

Family members in Brownfield say they are left shocked and wanting answers.

"She was a very sweet kind loving person and it's sad that this happened because she done nothing to no one," Aunt, Chanelle Waitman said.

Family says Nakasha is a 2011 graduate of Brownfield High School and loved playing basketball.

But most of all, she loved her family.

"Whatever you needed she got if for you if she had it, if you didn't have it," Waitman said.

Family members gathered in Brownfield on Wednesday, struck with grief over the loss of Nakasha.

"I don't think that it's right that she got killed like this," Waitman said.

Now they're left wondering why this happened.

"I broke down crying. I called my mom and she told me what happened. It really hit me hard," her cousin, Kendrick Davis, said. "Didn't even really get to live her life."

This close knit family is pulling together for comfort and strength, as they remember Nakasha's love for her family.

But they say what they want most is for justice to be served.

"I just want whoever did it to come forward. Like save us pain," sister Aliyah Fuller said. "Like it hurts and for you to just get a random call that your oldest sibling is gone is unbearable. Like how do you take that?"
