Provided by the Plainview Police Department

Currently the Plainview Police Department, the Hale County District Attorney's Office, with assistance from the Lubbock County Sheriff's Department are executing search warrants on four suspected drug addresses on the 100 Block of West Brazier.

They are 111, 107, 105, and 102 West Brazier Street.  In August 2015 the Plainview Police Department launched "Operation Clean Sweep, an investigation into allegations of drugs being sold on the 100 Blk. of west Brazier.

The investigation was in response to citizen complaints of drugs being sold and the concern for the safety of children, living in the area.  In 2014 and so far in 2015 the Plainview Police Department responded to a total of 82 calls for service and investigated reports of assaults, aggravated assault, burglary, theft, etc.

Our department made several arrests stemming from drug possession, warrants, and alcohol related incidents.  Our department conducted hours of surveillance in the 100 block of west Brazier and found activity consistent with drugs being sold.  We identified several individuals known to abuse drugs to frequent the area and we also observed hand to hand transactions of what appeared to be drugs and money.  Over a three month period our department used an undercover officer to purchase drugs from individuals.

As of this date our departments purchased drugs from eleven known individuals and have obtained warrants for their arrests.

The names will be released at a later time.  It is our hope that Brazier Street will be a safe place to live and that these known drug dealers will not return to selling drugs.
