Customers Foil 7-Eleven Robbery in Central Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - According to Lubbock Police, a group of customers foiled a robbery at a 7-Eleven in central Lubbock overnight.

Just before 1 a.m. on Sunday, November 28, Lubbock Police responded to a 911 call at the 7-Eleven on 27th and Avenue Q.

Officials say the male robber was confronted by a group of customers outside of the store, after the robbery.

The customers got their merchandise and money back from the man.

Police say it appears one witness had minor injuries from the struggle to keep the robber on site until police arrived. That person was taken to the hospital.

The robber was still on site when police arrived and he is now in police custody, he has been identified as 27-year-old Joseph Lloyd Johnson.
