LPD releases name of victim in deadly shooting

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead at 33rd and Indiana.

Police responded to a report of a shooting just after 7:20 p.m. Thursday.

According to the police report, a man was shot in the 2000 block of Cedar Avenue. The victim was driven away from that area.

A Lubbock Aid Ambulance was flagged down by people in a F-150 pickup. 22-year-old Henry Anderson had been shot.

Paramedics tried to treat Anderson but he died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.

On Friday afternoon, the family gave KCBD a statement:

"The only thing we as a family want to say is we appreciate all the kind words thoughts and concerns, but we'd like our privacy as we prepare to bury our loved one."
