LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Both major Lubbock health care organizations are asking for volunteers to help transport their staff to work.
UMC
University Medical Center needs volunteers with four-wheel drive vehicles to help get their nurses and other critical staff to the hospital for their shift change Sunday night at 7 p.m., and then Monday morning at 7 a.m.
Many Lubbock police officers and firefighters are tied up with other calls.
They ask volunteers to post their names and phone numbers on their Facebook page below:

One of their nursing directors will call you.
"Thanks for your help to ensure our patients receive the best care," said UMC representative Eric Finley.
Covenant
Covenant is asking for volunteers with 4-wheel drive vehicles. City vehicles are limited and some of our staff are having difficulty driving to Covenant's facilities due to weather conditions. If you have a 4-wheel drive vehicle and are willing to help drive our staff to the hospitals to take care of our patients, please call 725-0611.
