FLOYDADA, TX (KCBD) - 37-year-old Daniel Zavala is facing multiple charges after being found in a stolen vehicle in Ward County on Thursday.

Zavala is a suspect in a string of burglaries that happened in Floydada after Christmas.

Zavala was found sleeping in a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu, reported stolen from a dealership in Arlington. He had two loaded weapons in his lap.

In the vehicle, authorities found merchandise from burglaries from multiple locations including Floydada, Lockney, Shallowater, Kress, Plainview, Idalou, and Odessa.

On December 27th, police say the burglars hit a daycare and head start building.  In both instances, investigators say power was cut to the buildings, and the burglars got away with electronics and money.

Since power was cut during the freezing weather, pipes in the head start building burst, causing water damage.

Authorities suspect the same burglars hit the Fast Stop convenience store on December 28th.  They stole money and merchandise.

As of Jan. 12, Ralls Police say they've connected Zavala to a December break-in at the Dollar General there.
